Staff Council 2009-2010 Executive Board
Heather Alden, Chair: heather.alden@ucsf.edu
Heather’s term as Staff Council Chair is July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. She previously served as the Chair Elect and Secretary. In her first year, she served as Secretary. She has worked at UCSF since 2006 and previously worked at UC Berkeley. She is the Director of the UCSF Academic Senate Office.
CHAIR: The Staff Council Chair provides leadership to the Executive Board and Staff Council, calling all meetings, preparing the meeting agenda, and serves as the principal contact person for all Staff Council business. The Chair serves for one year, after serving one year as Chair-Elect.

Kathy is in her fourth year with the Staff Council, and serving as the Senior Delegate to the Council of University of California Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) as well as Chair-Elect. In 2008-09, she served as the CUCSA Junior Delegate. She previously served as Staff Council Secretary and Editor. She brings a wealth of experience to UCSF from her former fields, most notably 13 years in the non-profit health and human services field and 10 years in the international export business. She joined UCSF in 2003 and presently works in the Department of OBGYN as an academic analyst.
CHAIR-ELECT: The Staff Council Chair-Elect assists the Chair in the performance of her or his duties, including serving as an additional contact person for all Staff Council business, assumes the duties of the Chair in her or his absence. After completing one year as Chair-Elect, serves as Chair for one year.
Dave Robb, Immediate Past Chair: drobb@ari.ucsf.edu
Dave is the Staff Council Immediate Past Chair. In 2008-09, he served as Chair. Previously, he served as Chair-Elect and as Editor. He has worked at UCSF since 1999 and works in the AIDS Research Institute at UCSF (ARI), the umbrella organization representing some 50 HIV/AIDS programs and 400 researchers throughout UCSF.
IMMEDIATE PAST CHAIR: The Staff Council Immediate Past Chair continues to serve on the Executive Board as an advisor to the current Chair and Chair-Elect. S/he may be called upon to perform the duties of the Chair in the absence of the Chair and the Chair-Elect.
Kimberly Bissell, Secretary: bissellk@dahsm.ucsf.edu
Kimberly serves as the Staff Council Secretary. She is an analyst in the Department of Anthropology, History and Social Medicine.
SECRETARY: The Staff Council Secretary records, distributes and maintains the minutes of general and Executive Board meetings, annually updates the list of campus committees to which the membership might be appointed, and maintains an updated list of employees to campus committees.
Carol Leung, Treasurer: LeungC@obgyn.ucsf.edu
Carol serves as the Staff Council Treasurer. She works as a research analyst in the Department of OBGYN.
TREASURER: The Staff Council Treasurer reviews, approves and keeps record of Staff Council expenses; approves requisitions and travel vouchers; maintains the general ledger; and prepares budget and expense reports for approval by the Executive Board.
Kolette Massy,Communications Officer: massyk@ocme.ucsf.edu
Kolette serves as the Staff Council Communications Officer. She is the Accreditation and Education Development Manager in the School of Medicine Dean’s Office of Continuing Medical Education.
COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER: The Staff Council Communications Officer edits and distributes pertinent information in appropriate media for the membership, as needed; maintains and makes all updates to the Staff Council website, including posting minutes, meeting announcements, upcoming events and links to other webistes, e.g. CUCSA; recommends, sets up and maintains new communications media such as wikis, social networking sites and maintains all information relevant to Staff Council communications. The Communications Officer position was formerly listed as Editor.
Debra Moore, Regents Observer: mooredk@fcm.ucsf.edu
Debra serves as the Staff Council Regents Observer. She works as a financial analyst in Family and Community Medicine.
REGENTS OBSERVER: The UCSF Staff Council Regents Observer attends all UC Regents meetings held in San Francisco and as many East Bay meetings as time permits or listens to the live audio internet broadcasts of open sessions likely to be relevant to staff; reviews the minutes of all Regents meetings held at other campuses; presents to the Executive Board and to the broader membership, as warranted, summaries of Regents business affecting the membership following each meeting; acts as a liaison to the Staff Advisor to the Regents and coordinates the annual visit of the Staff Advisor to the Regents to UCSF.

CUCSA SENIOR DELEGATE: The CUCSA Senior Delegate represents UCSF at all meetings of the Council of University of California Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) http://www.ucop.edu/cucsa/; prepares written summaries of the meetings’ highlights for submission to the membership and to the Director of Human Resources; presents verbal reports at general and Executive Board meetings regarding CUCSA business; and conducts campus surveys as requested by CUCSA.
Ashley Inman, CUCSA Junior Delegate: ashley.inman@ucsf.edu
Ashley serves as the Junior Delegate to the Council of University of California Staff Assemblies (CUCSA). In 2010-11, she will serve as the CUCSA Senior Delegate. Ashley also serves as the Human Resources representative to Staff Council. She is an analyst in Human Resources.
CUCSA JUNIOR DELEGATE: The CUCSA Junior Delegate attends all meetings of the Council of University of California Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) http://www.ucop.edu/cucsa/ and assists the Senior Delegate in the duties described above. Each UC campus has two delegates to CUCSA, serving staggered two-year terms. The new Junior Delegate is elected each year. S/he goes on to serve as the Senior Delegate the following year.
